How to hide comment activity on fb?

OK, so I have timeline.. And whenever I comment on something from the like pages..All of my friends/family can see it.. And sometimes there's really offensive/inappropriate stuff that I like and comment on, that I don't want them to see. Like my grandma, for example. How do I hide the comment activity? I don't want to delete my comment, I just want to hide the notification from people on my friends list seeing it.
Yes, because sometimes they comment on the pictures after I do.

are you sure they're seeing it?
Anyway, the best way to fix this is to check out your privacy settings and see if you can hide certain things from certain people. OR, ask your family to go to "Hide this story", select change what updates you see from (insert name here) uncheck "Comments and Likes" and voila!

the only way to prevent it is to add people to your restricted list, but they wont be able to see your status updates then either

Go to your timeline , on the top right of the post you want to hide select the gear symbol and choose hide from timeline :-)
