Is Facebook on the Decline?
it seems like I'm on facebook less and less, and so are my "friends". The things they post are simply uninteresting and not clever. User posts are like personal spam, and I honesty don't really care about what people are posting anymore. It's not interesting. I don't seem to be alone either...are people getting turned off by facebook? Any links would be cool too...

Facebook now is in much the same position as Myspace was before Facebook started.

Myspace was considered unstoppable, and a real threat to "old media", to the point that Rupert Murdoch's newscorp purchased it for a vastly inflated price.

Their main demographic, teenagers and early 20s college kids, are an extremely fickle market and are likely to abandon Facebook just the way they did Myspace.

It hasn't collapsed yet, but it's almost certain to.

I don't think so as in 2009 150 million active users were on facebook and now at the start of 2011 we are up to 500 million active users. If you didnt notice thats a gain of 350 million people.

The decline is with myspace who had 110 million accounts in 2006 and as of 2010 had 64 million.

I think it's your age. I've noticed that the older I get... the older anyone gets... the less interested they become in Facebook.

Facebook continues to add users like crazy. This article has some interesting statistics:
http://www.mars-west.com/2011/03/busines...k-presence

Also, look at what's going on around the world right now. The Middle East and North Africa are on fire because of Facebook and Twitter. Revolutions are happening.

Also, I'm not sure where you live, but only 30% of Facebook users live in the US.

Maybe you need more interesting friends. ;-)
