how weird is it to ask a guy out like this? (gay)?

last week i went to the mall and saw they guy who was really cute, went into the store and he approached me and we talked for about an hour. i ended up buying something so it wasn't weird. and now all i can think about is him. i went one facebook a couple days later and it showed his picture in the "do you know these people" section. i clicked on it, and i thought, i kind of know him.. but lets not do that it should be weird. about a week later now all iv thought about was him and he was in all my dreams. so i went back to the mall to see if he was there and sure enough he was. i went in and talk to him for about 5-10 minutes. he remembered who i was, so i know i made an impact on him. and since i know who he is, i was thinking of adding him on facebook, see if i can spike up a conversation. the problem is, i don't know if he is openly gay and stuff. and i don't want to just assume that. so would it be weird to send him a friend request? i don't want to seem like a stalker, but my friend says i should because it shows i have interest!? idk, what are your ideas? please help!

Not weird at all tbh. Well to send a friend request anyway.. asking him out immediately may be much. Chat on Facebook first and if he responds well go in for the kill. That and pay him a couple more visits at that store. Just say it's one of your favourites and maybe even ask him when they get new inventory.

In like two weeks go to the mall and talk one more time then add him. Think about if he gave you any looks or if his body language suggests he may be interested in you. But it's not weird to add him on fb. Just ask him what's up and how he is doing, just like you would talk to any friend. See where the conversation goes. If he keeps messaging you back and you keep the convo interesting and funny it prob means he likes you.
