Wedding Videography. How to get clients with no footage of weddings?
I am looking around to film a free wedding for my portofolio since I am starting out. I already put up my ad on craigslist with no luck. I am being specific with the dates the month of January to the first week of February. We all know is a slow season, but there has to be someone out there having a weeding.

Any ideas were else I can advertise? Someone out there I am sure would want a free wedding.

I have profesionall equipment and have insurance.
Thank you Jamie and P. I have starting posting on wedding facebook's and advertising a free wedding. I am in the Orange County area.

Facebook! Look for wedding groups, or services groups, etc. I don't know where you are or how far you'd travel, but everyone I know uses facebook to find things like this!

If you're first starting out, try meeting with the sales team of a wedding venue, banquet type business. Offer your services for free for a certain number of weddings. The venue can use this as a free upsell for their potential brides. You build a portfolio, they get a free video, and you get started in building a reputation with wedding parties. Have business cards ready.

I like the idea of Facebook. The venue thing is worth a shot, but a good venue isn't going to use a "subcontractor" they know nothing about. You need to get to the brides directly.

Also, why January to February? That's happening right now and most brides already have all arrangements finalized.

Finally, just as some free advice, make sure anything you put in writing is error free. There's some mistakes in your question, and hopefully you just typed it quickly. But when you're starting a business, you need to be professional, and that means attention to detail. Have someone proof it if you need to, even FB postings.

Also, retry on CL. I'm really surprised you didn't get something. Use keywords, title it carefully, and make sure you explain what you can offer and why you're doing this.
