Should I direct message her on twitter?

So there is this girl who I like but I don't have her number. She knows who I am and I talked to her on ask.fm before, but was wondering if it would be weird to direct message her on twitter and ask for her number? What are your thoughts?

Go for it. There's this guy who likes me who is actually doing it now. It's kind of annoying (since I don't feel the same way). Just don't overdue it. Talk to her for a couple days and if she is 1-word replying or just doesn't seem interested, stop. Good luck!
