Can you upload gifs onto instagram?
Upload, not make gifs on instagram. I recently got a samsung galaxy s4 and I really want to display one of my GIFs on instagram.

but I did it once and it didn't seem to work.

Nope, sadly you can on post videos that you've recorded on instagrams camera/video option.
