Why am I having feelings of inadequacy? Why do I feel like I am behind on life?
Okay, so recently I was added on a Facebook group of my high school graduating class of 2004. I noticed that a lot of people I knew, and also only knew OF (Those who I saw around but never actually conversed with, or even said a word to) are married and have families of their own. I don't have any children, nor am I married. I am also more focused on school than I was back when I first started college.

The one thing that I can't help but think about is the fact that people I graduated with have families of their own when I don't. I know I shouldn't compare myself to others, nor should I be feeling this way. Why do I feel this way?

They have families, you have education. What's important to you?

I can relate and feel the same way. I believe it is because the paths we chose. I played videogames too much and watched too much t.v. Instead of interacting with people my own age in high school, so i never had a connection to anyone. I didn't have a job because of my disability and couldn't afford a good time out. I on accidently kept myself distracted during those times and i never hung out with anyone or did anything really fun. I think we both kept ourselves busy during this whole period, and time went by and here we are. It's not too late though, there is still one option. We need to hang out in places we always wanted to go and just have fun on the side of working and going to school. Me personally, i like history museums and sceince musuems. I also enjoy medaphysical stuff. So i will go to places that relate to those. What is your interests? You might find someone special to you pursuing your own intersests.

Cognitive therapy says that feelings follow thoughts. If you think they are better off then you could obsess, but if you don't then you could care less. I don't see people running off to get married so much anymore with all the overpopulation. If they do, I wish they would adopt. There are so many other fun things you could do. The teachers seem to want to take up all your time. Maybe studying online, because some of the online sites seem a lot better and most of the best are free too. Are you sure you are in a field that leads to a definite job? It's seems a waste to spend all that time and money, only to find that others in you field are working at McDonalds. In any case change your thinking and/or chose a middle ground.
