What are # used to denote on the internet?
I don't know what #sodapop or #biscuitlover means. How do I use these.

On twitter or Instagram Hashtags are used as in a category. Like if you tag something to #cool than you put a put a tweet or a picture into a column that people have. So you search up Hastags on twitter or Instagram it will show a list of tweets or pics that are tagged to that #. All you have to do is just put a hash tag next to the tweet or pic and don't space, than your tag will be part of the list.

The # sign is mainly used to "tag" something in a certain category (for example Biscuitlovers). The benefit of using them is if you search, for example, "#Lost" on twitter for example you will mainly get results about the TV show. If you just search "lost" (with out the # sign) you would get lots of results such as "i lost my keys again".
