What are feminists arguing for?
I'm looking for a specific law, constitutional clause, anything really, that stretches beyond social behaviour (for example, a man holding a door for a women). What are feminists trying to accomplish?
More women live in poverty... I wouldn't really consider this an argument, if true. Rather, if this is a result of them being payed less (which is mentioned below. This by itself doesn't really mean much, unless you assume that society is responsible for keeping them out of poverty.

Same as above

Women earn less: Not really sure what this means. It could mean that of all the citizens working, women earn much less, which is true, considering a higher proportion stay home. It could also mean that the caliber of jobs these women are working at paying less; which is also difficult if we consider that, a lot of the time women may not be working unless they need to. (Without being sexist) I'm sure a study would show that 300% more women work, who are in poverty, as opposed to those who are more well do to, out of necessity. This would also skew results. This only has real implications if women are paid less for doing the EXACT SAME job as men, and can be proven (in which case i
This is an interesting point, depending on how you view it. There are less women in politics. But at the same time, there is nothing barring women from politics. It makes no sense then, what is preventing women form entering politics. You could argue that representatives are selected by other representatives, however eventually, the power dribbles back down to the people. When it comes down to it, women have as much say as men. In fact, they are even a slightly higher proportion of the population. If a man and women both ran for rep, and everyone voted for their own sex, women would no doubt win. So why doesn't this happen? The only conclusion is that women are also not voting for the women, in which case there are two logical answers. The first is (not to be sexist) the women don't see the woman candidate as as good of a leader. Or B, some other force smeared the election (perhaps someone rigged the ballots, or a majority of men threatened to beat their wives should they vote

Mostly we are pushing for the consistent application of the laws we have had implemented. It's all very well to make a law saying you can't sexually harass someone in the workplace. It takes vigilance and constant pushing to make sure that law is upheld.

Apart from slandering mens rights activists and calling them names, I can only think of two main issues:

1. Giving women equal pay to men for doing less work

2. So-called objectification of women in the media, even though men are also objectified

But...who knows what feminists have in store for us in 2014...just when you think you've seen it all, feminists go and surprise you again with what they can come up with.

Feminists want an equal playing field so that when we compete for a job for instance, gender does not get in the way and you automatically get the job because you are a man. This happens despite what many men say. See source 1 that shows that just changing the name on the resume changed the outcome and the discrimination was against women.

This is my list of issues and ending these issues is what we are trying to do in the west. Even more needs to be done elsewhere.

More women live in poverty and much deeper poverty than men.
More women retire in poverty despite working hard their whole life.
Women earn less.
Women do the lion's share of unpaid work in our society with little respect or recognition for it.
Mothers pay a huge price for having children - usually 7 to 9% of her lifetime income while fathers suffer little to no income reduction.
Women suffer more objectification in media and with pornography, slut shaming, victim-blaming
Women suffer more sexual abuse and rape, human trafficking (more are women)
Women are still being restricted in many areas by artificial barriers or attitudes, such as religious institutions ( they are not allowed to be priests, imans, or lamas)
Women's sports is not funded or promoted as much as men's in high school, college or on the pro circuit.
Many things like cars and medicines have not properly been tested on women and cause them harm.
Women are underrepresented in politics and business and decision making generally.

Admittedly it's worse in most of the rest of the world.

Many women claim to be feminists for many different reasons and they want to accomplish different things.

@ya coffee: I thought of a genius solution to your "women sports" problem. If woman watch woman's sports and attend the games, i grantee men will as well. The more people that support it, the more likely it will be promoted. Its all up to the women... i just don't think they are very interested.
