Supporters of Privatizing Social Security: How do you rationalize looting the country for your own benefit?
There is already more than enough free investment capital in the United States. There is so much, in fact, that Wall Street has to invent new products to keep up with demand. That even investment opportunities are outstripped in the US and the money must venture overseas facing greater risk just to be put to use.
Yet the holders of this money have learned a trick; rather then ACTUALLY produce or innovate with it, withhold it in order to force the government to fork over its cut to stimulate economic activity. Very little risk because the wealth already exists; its simply being redistributed.
In the past we've seen how tax cuts or rebates stimulated the market for only so long: it was meat thrown into a shark tank and when the feeding frenzy ended everything returned to normal.
If social security is privatized; it will only stimulate the economy by encouraging people to get in the game to squabble in the feeding frenzy. Once the freed capital has been claimed; it will all slump again.
How can you rationalize this lazy, cowardly and dishonest strategy towards investment? Especially since it loots the country?

I don't want the government in charge of my retirement funds. I don't want a corporation in charge of my retirement funds. I don't want a union in charge of my retirement funds. I want responsibility for my retirement funds myself. And that is the responsibility that every American should exercise.

Obama's so called payroll tax cut is coming out of our Social Security fund. He's the looter and he's trying to look like a hero, when he is a thief.

I've had 14% of my property stolen by government to feed a Ponzi scheme that makes Bernie Madoff look like a chump. I want it back. I know what's best for me more than a bunch of arrogant politicians, bureaucrats and leftist assholes like yourself.

Have a nice day, sport.

Take a look at your lead in question:

"How do you rationalize looting the country for your own benefit?" This is exactly what Social Security is. A Ponzi scheme that constantly needs more and more able bodied individuals to feed the machine and pay for the ones on their way out. If that isn't looting the country for one's own benefit I don't know what is.

Nobody wants to privatize SS, just want to give people the OPTION of opting out and controlling your own money. It's called freedom comrade.

Exactly how is owning my own earnings "looting the country?"
You HAVE a good answer for that unless you're deliberately being dishonest.
Now let's flip the question: Since literally 100% of Congressional Democrats agreed that if not FUNDAMENTALLY changed, SS is going to kill-off the economy, how do all of you Democrats justify REFUSING to allow ANY changes whatsoever?

First, why should the government pay for public education? At least those who are getting Social Security actually did work. You look old enough to remember the prior president. If we privatized Social Security and the economy tanked as it did, we would have more seniors in the food bank lines than we already have. Scammers who do instant trades on the stock exchange are just gamblers and do not contribute anything to society. Yet the number and volume of trades they do can control entire markets. You would put the last bit of the safety net for seniors under their control? Lay off of the right wing lemonade for a while.
