Facebook account disappeared?

We have two email addresses on our computer. Both my husband and I have facebook accounts, each getting notifications to respective email accounts. The other day I changed MY facebook account to get email notifications to the address my husband uses for his facebook notifications. After that, his fb profile has disappeared completely. I can't understand why it's such a big deal to have two different fb accounts getting email notifications to the same email account? I've tried re-registering his name in the original email account that he created his in, but it just takes me back to my fb profile, not his. Doesn't matter what I do actually, it just takes me to my fb account. Does anyone know if his profile has disappeared completely???

Your e-mail address is who you are. If Facebook sees two separate accounts with one e-mail address it assumes you are the same person. This is a way of keeping people from making fake or excessive accounts. Just register with a separate e-mail addy.
