Up to date facebook web app tutorial?

I want to create a "Hello World" app in Facebook. I looked for a tutorial online however, all the tutorials seem to be written before facebook changed their layout (which is frustrating). Does anyone know of a recent tutorial for the new layout. The type of tutorial I'm looking for needs to be somewhat idiot proof. I'm good at expanding my knowledge base, but horrible at obtaining it. Need a good start point.

I don't care if the example app is php, java script, or whatever, just needs to be very simple and up to date.
