Anything you post to Facebook, even if set to private, will more likely than not be seen by others because of all the friends and friends of friends.

If you don't want someone to see a status, don't post it. Relationships come and go. Once a couple breaks up, there will still be the Timeline post about the relationship. At your young age, you could have many "In a relationship withs" in a year's time. I've seen quite a few questions here about how to get rid of a relationship status on a timeline because the person now regrets posting it. The only time this should be posted is if you get married. Then there would be no reason to hide it from anyone.
