It's not true; it's a LIE.

Facebook will not charge, and it's so annoying to here people lie about it! Take an economics class or business psychology class, people.

Here's why they will NEVER charge: advertisements.
-If Facebook started charging, everyone would leave. They don't have access to any of your account information (like bank accounts and credit cards) unless you gave it to them, and even if you did (for online gifts and stuff) it would be ILLEGAL for them to charge your card without your consent.
-Facebook has over 350 Million members around the world. They also have big companies in there, advertising and getting followers like CRAZY. Farmville and other 3rd-party games and groups make money through the ads and things.

This concept is the same exact reson why Yahoo! and Google and MySpace and other very popular sites are FREE (and will always be free). Look around on these sites and you will see advertising.

***This is as stupid as saying that Yahoo! Answers will start charging $5 a month starting in June. DO THEY HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR MONEY? No.
-Besides, many of Yahoo! and Facebook's users are minors who don't have any electronic money. Would Facebook risk losing half of their populace? That'd instantly be half of their revenue.

Zuckerberg is sitting high with ca$h right now. He wouldn't mess that up.
