Why won't the facebook app work on my blackberry curve 8520?

i got a blackberry curve today and i downloaded the facebook app, however when i log in it says data service not available, please try again later or contact your service provider, any help:-)?
yeah, i have 500mb includedddd
it's still doing the same, any other tips or what you think the problem could be?

Do you have data service as part of your wireless plan?

The FB app requires a data plan.

Edit:

Try a battery pull.

If that doesn't work register your phone with the mobile network.

Options icon - Advanced Options - Host Routing Table

Press the Menu key and select Register Now.
