Facebook is a great tool. In addition to that:

- Search engine optimization, takes time and effort but if successful can be extremely rewarding.
- online fliers and catalogs, send to your friends and any one who might like it.
- build a mailing list and send newsletters
- have a cheap but good brochure or flier to get people to know
- start a facebook page for your site. get your friends to become fans. they're friends would see your page and if they like it, they too would become fans. so make sure the page is good.
- have a twitter account, build followers and keep them updated about your products or what you're offering
-start a page on linkedIn
- have a press release
- write about topics relevant to your website, post it online and ensure you post a link to your website somewhere within that article
- free classifieds

Good luck!

Affiliate marketing is one of the popular internet marketing ideas where you sell and promote others products, MLM (multilevel marketing) is another, both require you a focus effort in getting customers whom you can either sell or sponsor in your down-line. Once you have overcome the hurdle, it does give you enough fruits as passive income to sustain your internet home business. There is lot of competition, promoting traffic and getting customers may be more than what you can contemplate.
You can either start a blog or promote the product from your website. You need traffic to succeed in internet business. Traffic can come with social book marking websites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. You need to learn to how to get traffic with the guidelines and the rules given in the social book marking websites without annoying the members.

I recommend you to use FACEBOOK for promoting and marketing your business,It's a big and wide social network where million of people share their thought and makes business groups to expands their words...it all can be done by using facebook profile, you have to create first and effective profile then start sharing (suggesting) to your friends. You can then keep your fans up-to-date on new happenings..if you have any website then share link with other. This creates more traffic for your website and also fans are able to share your links with their friends. So you see, there is a great opportunity for growth if you do it right!
Facebook has to be done a certain way to get it do what you want. It has to be learned , not from a school that has instructors who haven't made money from it and only teach it but from people who have proven success on Facebook and have taught others to do the same.
