How can i get facebook timeline?

So I know the deadline for facebook timeline was in March but I made my facebook account about a week ago and I want timeline but I cant get it. I tried finding the "green button" but it wasn't there. Some people said there was a add at the top of the page, I have never seen it. Please tell me how I can get timeline I really want it but I cant figure out how??!! Please give me steps how to do it or paste a link. If there is no way to do it now is it to late to get timeline? Thanks.
