Why are people using "#" on facebook?
You know, someone posts a status, and sticks number signs ("hashtags") at the end with some tags.
Example: "I went to the movies last night. #goodtime #movie #fun" Or something like that. I know it's a twitter thing, and that they work something like keywords or tags, but why are people amending the ends of their facebook posts with them? I think it just looks stupid. I won't tell my friends that, for risk of offending them, but why would you stick something which is meant to be a categorization tool on twitter, onto a facebook post? If it's a tool intended to work on twitter, why not keep it on twitter? It just looks ridiculous on facebook, and it doesn't serve any purpose. I don't much care for twitter, and don't have an account. But if you like it that's absolutely fine, but why bring twitter-based tools to facebook where they don't even work? Oh...and why is it called a "hashtag"? Isn't "#" a number sign, or pound symbol? Ads |
