Facebook texts are spamming me with useless info?

I've been using facebook's mobile text notification service for about six months now and I haven't had any problems until three days ago. Facebook texts me whenever someone posts on my wall, comments on a picture, etc, but after sending that message it always tells me to subscribe to someone's statuses. Also, the texts that I receive have boxes ([][]) where letters are supposed to be. The texts end with "agreed" instead of the usual "To comment on this wallpost reply to the text" or whatever it said before. I've reset my number but it still keeps happening.

In all likelihood, you must be able to turn these off from Facebook Privacy settings (On top right -> Click on "Privacy" settings")
