How do I get Facebook notifications on just one android device?

I use a Motorola RAZR M and a 2013 Nexus 7 with Facebook installed on both. Neither is rooted. While at home, I have both devices on wifi, so I don't need notifications on both. I have tried turning chat notifications in the Facebook app on the phone off, but it turns off the notifications on the tablet as well. Ideally, Facebook notifications would automatically disable on my phone while I am at home or on wifi, whether my home network or in general. Is there any way to do this?

I don't believe you can. The only way I can think of doing that is just by logging out in one device.

You could use the Profiles feature (if available on your phone) and set up a "Home" profile which would turn off all notifications, or turn off notifications for a group of apps (which, I think, could include just one—Facebook—if you wanted). It's under Settings > Profiles. I've never actually set up a profile, so I can't give you the step-by-step, but it's worth checking out and experimenting. :-)

You could also get NFC tags (assuming the RAZR M supports NFC) and use them to activate the profiles. I think they're called TecTiles by Samsung. Not sure what other names they go by. In any case, there's built in support for this in the Profiles section. You can also specify which profile to activate based on your location, which is determined in Profiles by which WiFi network you're currently connected to (home vs. work vs. mall, etc.).

UPDATE: It appears this is only available in CyanogenMod, a custom version of Android, which I happen to have on my phone. (There are probably apps available on the Google Play Store that do similar things, though.) Here's more information about the Profiles feature on CyanogenMod:

It'll basically make your Razr M look a lot like the Android on your Nexus 7, or more "pure Android." There's a CyanogenMod Installer app that may make the process easier:
