Why does my corn snake dart towards me?
I have had my corn snake for two years, she has bitten me once thinking I was food, I have been trying to get back into handling since then but it makes me nervous when she darts towards me. I have tried turning off her heat light for a bit for her to "Cool off" a few degrees. I have worn gloves before just because it makes me more comfortable, they are not thick. Why does she do this?

It could be because she is not handled a lot. When you do not handle your snakes often they do become a bit aggressive. All you need to do is use your gloves and pick her up handle her at least 2-3 times a week. Then she will be as calm as can be. The temp has nothing to do with her behavior. Also another factor is that your snake is scared as well. When you go to pick her up go from the back side. Grab her mid section of the body then pick her up. This makes them feel safe. If you go towards their head with your hand and over them it scares them. Our hands our huge compared to them. Check out my facebook page at Corn Snake Facts and Questions. On this page you can post pics of your snake and any other questions you may have. I have years of experience with corn, milk, and king snakes. This page is very informative everyone on this page has nothing but great things to say about it. Hope to see you there!
