What does 'Quit Unexpectedly' mean?

A while ago I was on my iPod on Instagram when my iPod suddenly gave me the notification 'Quit Unexpectedly'. I can't remember too much about it, but it did say to turn it off and gave instructions how to do it. I don't remember anything after that as I left the notification, and turned it off, but can anyone please tell me what they mean? I'm extremely worried and scared, and what it fully says, if I can prevent it? Thank you, I hope someone knows!

Instagram is notorious for "quit unexpectedly" errors. It just means something went wrong (a glitch) and the program froze up. Everybody who has an electronic device has experienced this error some time. But usually all you have to do is restart your device and go back to instagram. So try that (if you haven't already) and go back to instagram.

Now if it constantly freezes with that error, then try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. If it still won't work, then you need to go to instagram's website, find the 'contact us' link, and send a message to their technical support and see if they can help you resolve it.
