I'm 13yrs old, female. Ever since I can remember I've wanted to be a model and/or actress. It's my dream. But I don't know how to start. My inspiration is the tv show Glee. well it was in the 1-4 season. But this 5th season is not as good Sad! But anyway I've always wanted to become a model or/and actress! What are REAL modeling / acting agencies? how can I tell the real agencies from the fake? Also what do I need to become a model and/or actress!? All tips needed! I have a canon rebel t3i & I take those kinds of photos all the time. lol plz no hate! Thx!

I own a film and media company, I work with mainly new actors and these are tips that I give them. When applied correctly, they work.

1st, on the agent front. I have no idea where you live so I can't advice you toward agents, but I can give you tips on spotting a fake one.

-A real agent take a % of the money you make on a job, they DO NOT charge a monthly fee. An agent that charges is someone who can't get you jobs because they are too new or don't try and they want to get money from you, a real agent gets money by working hard for you and a % of that profit

-Research the company, find the actors they list on facebook and online, ask them about their agent. Search the department of business revenue website for your city (search google to find) and use the search business box to see if they have a business licence, a real agent has one.

Tips to Getting Started In Acting

-Take high school drama and middle school drama, apply for plays. Ask your parents to let you do community plays, and search local colleges and universities to find student films. None of these pay, but you'll have to get tons of solid work on a resume before someone will pay you to act, or at least pay you more than $9.00 hourly.

-Build an acting website. There are manly platforms to use, http://www.weebly.com is great, it is cheap for a pro plan and free for many other plans. Put professional looking (non self picture) photos, video, and a resume on it.

-Build an acting facebook page, get likes, agents will take notice and so will casting directors

-Do test runs videos. Go online or to the library and find monologue and plays. Memorize and practice them, then film them with a webcam and post online or share with friends and teachers. Ask for feedback and take it to heart, change what people say are wrong. They are not hating, they are giving feedback on what does not work

-You are never to young to start thinking about a career and schooling in acting. join scholarships.com and start looking for scholarships that you can do or prepare to do in the future years to pay for drama school.

-Do high resolution photos that are not taken by you, you need some great non-self pictures for your portfolio

-I would suggest acting sites for you yet, you should build up pictures first. When you do keep in mind they charge monthly, but that is okay. If a casting director or audition posting asks for money it is a scam. We make money on you acting for us and selling those photos and film, NOT on you paying to audition.

Some sites are

http://www.exploretalent.com (a top USA company)
http://www.talentpages.com
http://www.casting360.com

If you ever need more tips you can reach out to our company at http://www.featherlessproducitons.weebly.com we don't charge for tips and advice, that is free.
