Log on to Facebook
If you're using the original version of Facebook, click the Account link on the top of the page.
If you're using the new Facebook, move the mouse over the Settings link on the top of the page and click "Account Settings" from the drop down menu.
Click the Change link by your name, and enter the new information.
Click the Change Name button.

At the top right of your screen it will say Settings right next to your name.
Hover over that link and go to Account Settings.
It will give you options on this page to change your name.

Keep in mind facebook has an automated approval system, which means they will not accept names with special characters like hearts and stars etc.
If it passes through the automated system it will also go through a check within 24 hours to make sure the name is legitimate and not a celebrity name, or some random name you decided to make up.
