why is facebook suggesting friends from other hotmail address?

I signed up for facebook 3 years ago. then about a year ago i changed the email address i used for facebook. I keep getting friend suggestions from my old email address contact list. This means that facebook has kept my old email address and list of contacts, even though I never used that email address to invite people. So has anybody else had that? and what can you do about it?

Yeah its the same with me maybe its just an automatic message which keeps on popping up the whole time i mean i guess you cant take that away you will have to keep on closing that message and it shows for you cause they don't really control the number of friends you have so what they do is just send that message.

Nope i havn't had that b4 coz i only got one e-mail address.
If you don't like them sending you e-mails of friend suggestions then change your account settings to don't email me friend suggestions on every account you use. The option should be there somewhere or just change your e-mail seetings on your actual e-mail address.

I think the friend suggestions are friends that your friends have, or from suggestions your friends give

none of the people facebook suggests to me have ever been on my email contact list
