Go to Settings>Account>deactivate(should be the last one)> it will ask you why do you want to deactivate type in anything & just click deactivate & jualaa! Just log back on anytime you want to activate again

You can't. Facebook has changed everyone over to timeline permanently from January 14.

that is a new feature of FB so you can't delete your account from it.
