Does Facebook app leave you online?

Does it keep you as online on chat unless you exit the app completely using log out?

If you are referring to the iPod Touch or iPhone Facebook App, then it can.

The Chat function on the App is finicky and will go online if you even accidentally brush the symbol on the Homepage. Fortunately, you definitely CAN log out of chat without logging out of the App. All you have to do is tap the "Go Offline" button at the top right part of the screen. If the whole screen say's "You Are Offline," then you are offline. Occasionally, it will take a few times to go offline, but it will work eventually.

Facebook Chat has always been rather glitchy though. I would suggest just messaging each other using the Facebook Message system. Now that Message and Chat have essentially been integrated, it is faster and more effective for the App just to send those. This adds the benefit of not having to be Online.
