Why does my best friend care about what other people think of us?

so i'm a guy and i have a guy friend, and everyone seems to have a problem that we are really close, last time i checked he was taken, and i just had my heart broken by some girl, and im not attracted to him at all!

why are my friends like ' how come you always are with him?' and why?? etc, yes we are close were BFF's and i have never had a friend like him ever thats the best! even my family always say why are you always together?? when i brought him something for his birthday last year it cost around £500, and everyone of my mates were like WTF, why would you spend that much on him, a guy never does that for another guy! seriously whats everyones problem where not gay, just BF's!

but now my friend thinks we should hang out much less, and says i think were too close, why?

He's probably getting, the same questions as u are. Maybe he's tired of the questions too and think u guys should hang out less so ppl's suspicions will stop rising. I hope this helps

Thats the trouble these days. With all this social networking everyone is becoming more and more interested in what other people are up to rather than worry what's going on in their own lives. All you ever see in magazines and the internet is what so called celebs are up to. Then there is facebook and twitter. Privacy seems to be a thing of the past now. My best mate is female and people always assume there is something going on even though it's purely platonic. Some people can't accept the fact that other people are able to make good friends and are probably, to some extent, jealous of not being able to maintain a close friendship like that themselves.

Me personally, I just say a big F*** You to anyone that want's to interfere in a negative way. I do what I do to make myself happy and I aint gonna let some nosey pri*k get in the way of that. Life is too short to worry what other people think and if they spend too much time getting up in other peoples business then they will soon waste their own life away.

So just do whatever you want to do that makes you happy cos as i said before life is waaay too short! Ignore all those haters!!

What others say and do is hurtful, that is why he cares. He probably doesn't want to hurt your feelings, but wants to back off a little. He probably loves spending time with you and enjoys your friendship, but at the same time doesn't want you guys to be talked about, it's human nature.

And sad to say it's just life.
