So is Esurance making money from this twitter gig?
I'm sure many of us Americans seen the nationwide Super Bowl ad regarding tweeting "#Esurancesave30" for a $1.5 mil giveaway. Do they make any money off of taking over twitter for the night or are they just blowing a bunch of money?

They don't make any direct money, but they get free exposure from people talking about themselves on social media. That combined with the effectiveness of any commercial of bringing in new customers makes it worth the risk of an expensive ad campaign.
