Making a already published photo on Facebook your profile photo?

Making a already published photo on Facebook your profile photo?
I uploaded a photo on moblie uploads awhile back and I got a lot of likes on it and then I clicked to make it my profile pic which worked, but it took all the likes and comments away. Is there anyway to make that photo your profile pic without getting rid of the likes and comments from another album?
You used to be able to click make profile pic and then the comments and likes came with it.
I had a conversation not the comments that I'd like to make public jerks.

Why do you worry about "likes" its not like you are awesome and those "likes" mean anything

Maybe it duplicated the photo ... have a look in the original album. What I think Facebook does is, when you make it a Profile Picture, it puts it in a separate Profile Picture album, which will have no likes or comments. The original photo is probably still in the original album, if that makes sense ? Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to stop Facebook doing this, sorry !
