Facebook notifications?? help me:)?

When you're on facebook/account/editaccount/notifications, when you uncheck the different boxes (for example; get a notification when someone pokes you, accepts your friendrequest, etc.) does that mean I won't be getting any notifications on facebook, or will I still get them, but I won't get them in my mailinbox?
I hate it when you've got like 100 messages from facebook in your inbox, and you don't even withstand deleting them all.
When I created my account I unchecked the "email notifications box" and I wasn't getting any mails, but suddenly now all my notifications show up in my mail inbox as well??
I'd really like your help, cuz I wanna get notifications on facebook, but not in my emailinbox!

yeah, i know it pisses me off...i don't really know cuz i have been asking the same question to my frind... UGH i hate facebook...

You should be able to go into it and uncheck the emails. I get notifications but no emails bc i unchecked the emails.

check th settings of your account. Edit it and remove the check you put on the box/area that says you want to receive notifications to your email.

facebook has been making a lot of changes recently, so a lot of settings got reset.. which could be why you weren't getting emails about notifications, then out of the blue you were..

under the email column, when you uncheck the boxes, you'll still receive notifications ON facebook, but NOT in your email. same for the sms (text) column.. when you uncheck them, you won't receive notifications on your cell.
