FB profile picture change not showing up?

The last two times I've changed my profile picture it hasn't showed up on my timeline, and when I changed it, it said allow on timeline, does anyone know why? Could it be because both of the pictures I used were ones my friends took that I was tagged in? Or is there something else, because it doesn't show up in my news feed, I'm assuming it doesn't show in my friends feeds either, thank you!

You go to the photo.
Click options > Make profile picture
After that you should see your photo with a crop box.
Once you finish adjusting the box click done cropping.
Your profile picture should be now set.

Sometimes facebook lags. Just wait a bit.
