How to close skype account?

I can't close my old Skype account no matter what i do.
I'm really angry that there isn't an account shut down button like there is for facebook

Going to assume you use Windows.
Bottom right of your screen should be some icons. If skype is one, right-click it and then click quit or whatnot.
Otherwise, click the arrow, and then find the skype one, right-click it and then click quit or whatnot.

You could also use command prompt (ctrl+shift+esc on Windows 7 and maybe 8, or ctrl+alt+del to find otherwise)
Go to processes, find skype and end process.

You sign out Go to your name click little arrow there and in window click Offline [closes skype] then have to click Online to sign back in

f you no longer want to use your Skype account, you first need to remove all your personal information from your profile. This will ensure that other people cannot search for you in Skype by using personal information such as your full name, email or phone number (although they’ll still be able to search for your Skype Name).

The personal details contained in your profile depend on information you provided when you created or updated your profile. It may include your name, gender, date of birth, phone number, email address, mood message and any profile pictures of yourself you’ve uploaded.

To delete the personal details from your profile:

Sign in to your Skype account.
Under Account Details, select Profile.
In the Personal information section, click Edit next to Change password.

Remove any personal details you provided. You can replace your details in the fields with random characters such as “qwerty” or “xxx” because empty fields cannot be saved.
Click Save.
