I deactivated my facebook a few months ago. Can they still send me emails?

I would like to DELETE it, but I dont know how to. I don't check my emails often but every once in a while they will tell me that I have so many friend requests or messages. I don't understand this because whenever you deactivate your profile, it dissapears and no one can see it. Can someone explain this to me?

set up an inbox rule that auto-deletes anything from facebook - simple

Hey Abby, I wrote a guide to deleting Facebook. When you deleted you had to check a box that said you didn't want Facebook to contact you AT ALL anymore, including sending you emails. If you didn't check this little box they will still contact you.

You may have to go back into your account and delete it again and check this box.
