Is This How People Get Many Followers On Twitter?

I use twitter and instagram a whole lot and I have noticed that there are some people with like THOUSANDS of followers. Like there is this one guy who has about 22k followers on twitter and 230k on instagram.. I just can't figure out why though. He's not a celebrity and he doesn't have a Youtube or any of that, so how is he so well known? I don't know if I am right, but I got to thinking, and I think that what these random twitter users do is when starting out on twitter, they buy followers.. For example, someone on twitter who has 143 followers tweet fairly funny and interesting things, but they can't gain followers because people aren't as interested in someone with 143 rather than someone with, for example, 15k. So what they'd do is buy followers and bump theirs up to about 2,000. Well, this time when people go to their accounts they notice that 2,000 other people follow them so they figure "whyy not", and click the follow button. The larger the "followers" number is, the more people are likely to follow. After that, the followers skyrocket. Because that's what people really care about, quantity instead of quality.. Do you think I am right? Because I am thinking about doing this...

Yes and no. I have 311k followers on twitter and I am no celebrity. I have NEVER bought followers and I never plan to. There is a secret to followers on twitter. I'm not so sure about Instagram because I hate it. But those large accounts on twitter like @FreddyAmazin , @SoDamnTrue, @Notebook, ect. are all together like one big happy family. Yes, I am a part of that family. We all help each other gain followers. There are these things called goals that we do and we share followers. Its really hard to get to where we are because followers don't come as easy as they used to.

Yeah thats what they do. When people see somebody has more followers it makes them appear more popular and thus, more likely to get actual followers. Helps quite a bit actually. Best I've found are on "likesandfollowers.webs.com" I'd recommend it there. Remember if you get the quantity the quality will follow

Yes, but remember, getting quality followers is more important than the quantity. You need real people to follow you so that you can effectively communicate with them. You don't need spam and fake accounts lurking about.
