Facebook app for itouch, how to get rid of the chats?

Ok got a new itouch and of course I got the facebook app, errytime I goto chat and click and talk to someone once they log off or I stop talkig to them the chat boxes stating their name won't go away. I have tried exiting out and I don't want to delete the app then rebut it every time I gett to many chats, is there any way I can get rid of them??

Go to the very bottom of your chat contacts (even the away ones) and click "go offline" once you press go online, everything is refreshed. If that doesn't work you'll have to delete and then install the app
