I'm told he likes me but it seems unrealistic because of the way he acts...?

So this guy that I reeeeally like apparently liked/likes me back (not sure if he still does because I found out today that he liked me a few months ago), but there's a few facts that are conflicting with this conclusion.
1. He doesn't look at me at all. I don't catch him looking at me ever and when I look at him, he never looks at me, even if our faces are only half a foot appart and it's CLEAR that I'm looking straight at him.
2. He only talks to me when he has to. For example, in group conversations, he will engage everyone in the group except me when he speaks. I can only get him to talk to me by directly asking him a question.
3. I've tried to invite him to hang out with me on multiple occaisions, and though he usually says he wishes he could, the answer is always "can't, im busy" or some variation of that.
4. He is my COMPLETE opposite. I'm lazy and I procrastinate - he's a wrestler and the valedictorian and is in almost every club the school offers. I'm quiet - he's outgoing and talkative. I'm not extremely funny - he's hilarious. I'm not the nicest person ever and I if I'm in a bad mood, it's usually pretty obvious - he is incredibly nice to everyone and I don't think I've seen him without a smile.
5. His bestfriend and I dated for two months last year. I don't think he'd be the type to want to date his bestfriend's ex.
6. He stopped messaging me on facebook. Although, this did happen a few months ago when his best friend asked me to homecoming and I said yes (The guy I liked was going to ask me before my ex did, according to a source).
7. It's been a long time since homecoming and he probably doesn't like me anymore.

Sidenote: 1, 2, and 4 were all true before I started dating his friend. Meaning, while he definitely did like me, he still wouldn't talk/look/match to/at/with me.

All in all, my question is, knowing what you now know about him, do you think he probably doesn't like me anymore or is he trying not to show it or is there some other possibility?

You mentioned ''he will engage everyone in the group except me'' i tough he likes and he is just shy till you said ''he's outgoing and talkative'' something not normal there.
then you asked him to hang out with multiple times and denied all of them, He can't be that stupid if he likes you .
However i'm sorry to say this but i don't think he likes you anymore, wishing you of luck finding someone else .
