can someone please explain this facebook group to me?
there's a facebook group called "when you say 'hi' instead of 'hey', i know there's something wrong".
the people who are posting on the wall say stuff like "oh my boyfriend does this all the time when he's mad at me". I don't get it. Why does "hi" mean you're mad at someone? I say hi all the time, i never say hey. i still don't get it Ads |

It's not the facebook group that you need to understand, it's women. They will dissect every sentence, every gesture, every word- as demonstrated in this fine example. They will extract meaning out of everything that is done, and everything that is not done.
They are not necessarily right about their conclusions, but you can not stop them from this behavior. It's ingrained deep within their DNA to try to assign meaning to everything that pertains to a person they care about. If they care about you, expect this, but don't fret over it. Whether you say "Hi" or "hey" is the tip of the iceberg. Women look at mens behavior like a game of connect the dots. If they notice that you say 'hi' right before they discover something is wrong (even if it only happens ONCE) it becomes part of a potential pattern. If it happens twice, their suspicion has been vindicated, and if it happens 3 times, well- better learn to never say "Hi" again. Not because it's a "tell" but because they will find something wrong even if there wasn't something. As a younger guy I used to think this behavior was insane, as I've grown older I've learned that, yes, it is insane, but as long as the insanity stays at the "crazy theories" level, it's quite endearing. You can't stop it, you can only know when it crosses the line. |
