Editing Facebook notifications?
How do I stop notifications from when a person updates their status?

When certain people (not everyone) update their status, I'll receive a notification that they did so. It's quite annoying... I would like to know how to turn that off on an individual basis.

I receive a notification whenever a friend in my "Close Friends" list posts a status, so it's possible that these people you are receiving notifications from each time they post a status, are in a particular list that you may or may not have chosen to create.

There should be a button to uncheck the option of receiving a notification each time they post a status, rather than removing them from the list. I'd check for you but I've currently deactivated my account. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance!

I am not so sure if you are receiving this notifications on your profile notitications or via sms? If you are receiving notifications on your profile then that probably means you have them on a list you have created. You might have that friend in the 'close friend' list if you really never created a new list. Double check your lists by going to your 'home' tab and clicking on 'sites'. There it will have all your lists and more. It will also have all their notifications. Just make sure nothing is on the 'Close friends' that is the only tab that notifies of friends all the time.

If you are receiving notifications via sms then you are probably subscribed to that person and once you get like a msg saying their name you can always reply with 'Unsubscribe' or you can get on Facebook, go to their profile and click on the button that says 'unsubscribe from sms'. There are 2 different unsubscribe buttons now on facebook so make sure you click on the right one. I hope I have helped you?
