How to promote my other social media through my blog?

Hey. I've just started a beauty blog http://prettypurchases.blogspot.co.uk/
I've noticed on other people's blog they have a widget or something that has icons for other social network sites like Twiter, Facebook etc. Clicking on these takes you to their page.
I realise this is probably a silly question but I'm new to this and don't have a clue.
I was just wondering how to set that up? When I tried to set up a widget like that, all I could find were ones for links to share the blog/that post.
Sorry for the ramble and thanks for any help you give.

The idea is to link (url) an icon picture to your profile in a social network. For example..
