Facebook Friend Request?

I friend requested someone on Facebook that I know from school. When I went on their profile after friend requesting them, it said Awaiting Friend Confirmation or something like that. Now it doesn't, it has a button Add As Friend again. But when I go into All Connections under friends, under their name it says Friend Request Pending. Did they deny my request or is something wrong with Facebook?

It mean's Facebook's gone a bit funny - it did this to me when I was adding one of my mates from uni. I sent her a friend request and it did the same to me. But the day after she accepted the friend request
