I have a problem with my account, could someone help?

I would like to upload a picture to add as my profile picture for yahoo answers without connecting to a twitter or facebook account, but it won't let me. I would click on my photo, and it would come up three picture; one is my current picture, the other is to connect with an account and the other is no picture. It doesn't have an option to upload (on my profile, not here).

For example, this is what I did:

I clicked on my name, and it took me to my yahoo answers page.

I clicked on my preferences, and clicked change photo.

I clicked upload photo, and it took me to my profile.

I clicked my big picture, and it came up those three option. Nothing about uploading a picture at all.

@Barkley Hound; I tried both methods, and none of them worked. What's going on? Is it Yahoo!? I've tried it on two computers now, and it didn't work on either.

Try both methods below. Both currently have an upload option.

You must create your own avatar using software on your computer or download one from one of the many avatar sites on the web. Keep the avatar small. The displayed avatar is 48x48 pixels and under 5k. A very large avatar may become distorted or blurry. I recommend keeping it square and under 100k. Yahoo no longer has a site to create one. It closed on 4/1/13.

In order for your avatar to appear you must make your Yahoo! Profile visible if not already. Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ and make sure the profile is not hidden. There is no reason to hide your profile. Nothing appears unless you enter it and turn a switch on.

Either go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://profile.yahoo.com and click on the current avatar. Upload one or choose an existing one. If updating at one link does not work then try the other.
