I broke up with my boyfriend today, was I right or wrong?
I've been with my BF for a year now. We're deeply in love, and we're so close and we tell each other everything.
He's a really nice and sweet guy, he loves me very much and will do anything to make me happy, he never cheated on me, and we trust each other completely, we even share our social media's passwords with each other. He always says he wants to spend the rest of his life with me and I really want that as well.

The problem is, I'm a medical student and my family are some what rich. My boyfriend is one year older than me and he still doesn't go to college yet, he's really smart and good with physics and maths, and he wants to study engineering, but he's too lazy and he never studies, and he's not financially stable, although he could easily get financial aid to go to college, but he never works hard, he keeps failing some subjects and eventually he drops out of college, and this is the second time he did it, and just postpone it till next year.

I love him but I don't think me and him are going to work out, I can't be with someone who basically has no future, and honestly I don't think my family would approve of him. I always encourage him to study hard, and I'm very supportive of him and tell him things to cheer him up, but I can't tie myself to a lie.

I love him very much and it breaks my heart to have done this, because I know I won't find another guy who will love me as much as he does. But after a few years when I have a degree and he doesn't that's not going to be a good thing.

I personally think you are right to dump him. He is not motivated to do anything with his life and will sponge off of you when you graduate and get a good job.

It sounds harsh BUT it is the best thing to do for your sake.

Concentrate on your studies to become the best doctor you can be.

All the best and good luck!
