How do you turn off your location when messaging on facebook?

when I message people I see the little balloon icon and it shows my location. its scary how do you turn that off.

Check your settings. You should have your security set as tight as possible.

you are using a phone, right? open facebook on your phone, and click the settings button on your phone (not the settings page on facebook) - the 3rd item in the list says "messenger location services"

If you're using the messenger app, you can easily disable location by turning off the cycle button right next to the arrow button that sends the message...
