If you use Facebook, you already give them rights to use some of your information (name, profile picture, etc.). You can read their terms of use here, and understand more about what you can and cannot control

When you agreed to Facebook's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, you were agreeing to allow them to use your information. This is how Facebook makes money. They sell your info to companies for advertising. So, if you like something, an ad of that will item or store will be sent to your friend's pages saying that you like this and encouraging them to like it too.
If you want to avoid this, don't like anything or mention products or stores by name in any of your posts. FYI...Facebook now owns Instagram and according to their new Privacy Policy, your images can be sold and used in advertisements or brochures. The lesson in all this is to be careful what you post. |
