Question about using Twitter in marketing?

I'm ALMOST done with my homework but I am stuck on one last question!

Identify a blog or tweet you read regularly and that has some popular appeal to students and evaluate ways that a marketer could gain a presence with the blogger or tweeter audience? What problems could arise in a marketing strategy that paid a blog’s author for advertising or product mentions?

The first question answers it with the 2nd question.
1: Pay the blooger or tweeter to advertise for them. Talk about there product and say how great it is.
1: Via twitter or the blog comments contact the user and explain how their product may solve the problems that are brought up in the blog/tweet.

2: The message may not come off as as genuine and turn off potential customers
2: The blooger could turn on them and say bad things if there is problems or choose to say bad things about the company when the offer is made.
