Mormons, is there "revelation" on the horizon regarding gays, due to the bad press?

as much as this statement is meant to be a mockery and an insult. the legislature of governments do not undo the reality that God (never) gave the right of men to marry each other, nor does he allow sodomy as a sin of lust. men will be judged for adultery and fornication and all manner of sexual immorality.
seeing this declaration is my own words, or the declaration of the church can be overturned, i would expect a huge righteous answer to justify it. but i dont see it happening.

For the record, one prophet can speak his own commentary and another prophet can teach the words of God that redo the former words.

"Revelating" for the fully expected return to future legalized polygamy will come shortly on the heels of gay "acceptance", or even may come before if they can manipulate public sentiment better than they have. Come on. I mean, how many in the gay community are going to rush to join the LDS in the near future? Gotta start growing all those new members before its too late, as the last mormon wanders away from lack of interest. God knows their convert rate never helped.

Legalized polygamy: Get that heat shield in place before they are on to us!

Polygamy was because if we didn't stop the practice, the church would have been basically gone, considering the entire US government was against us. Polygamy wasn't a saving ordinance either, so it wasn't necessary to keep. Marriage between a man and woman is a saving ordinance and thus would stay.

As for blacks and the priesthood, they were actually given the priesthood since the beginnings of the church. Look up Elijah Abel. Black Polynesians were also always given the priesthood. Some blacks were debarred the priesthood starting with Brigham Young, but I think they were given it back because we realized that Joseph Smith ordained blacks. This also was never official doctrine that blacks couldn't have the priesthood, Marriage between a man and woman is official doctrine.

We won't receive any revelation regarding it since Marriage is official doctrine.

You really shouldn't gloat so early. It shows your arrogance.

No, it can't happen. It's incompatible with our doctrine.

The change already took place over the past years and with the website that the church did to address the issue. But marriage must have a fundamental element of procreation in Mormonism otherwise Mormonism is false, so it can't change no matter what press of pressure comes. The positive change was phased in quietly in the past several years - we're not a homophobic religion and all are welcome!

There could be a gay marriage in a church done by a Bishop someday, that wouldn't shock me, I don't know that I would really oppose it - but an eternal marriage that anatomically omits the opportunity for children would be changing basis of the Abrahamic covenant and can't happen.

Do you know how many Mormons confidently stated, back in the 1950's, that blacks would never receive the priesthood, because it was incompatible with Mormon doctrine? Or how many said the same thing in the late 1800's about polygamy? lol

The Mormon church always seems a few steps behind social progress. It wasn't that long ago that they were enthusiastically demonizing civil rights as a tool of the evil communists to undermine our great country.

I guess that's the benefit of "inspired leaders"...

It would seem that unmarried homosexuals are more welcome than they were formerly. They are no longer putting up wads of cash to stop gay marriage either. Perhaps they have figured out that they may not be able to stop it. If anything, Mormons are VERY practical. lol

Nope. Sex outside marriage is a sin, and marriage is between a man and a woman. That's never going to change.

Judging by the votes on Prop 8, most of the country agrees with our stance.

The judges didnt. And thats fine.
