How to make fb friends?

Heyy guys! I really wanna know how to make friends through social networking sites such as facebook. Im really bad at making friends through chat. I see all the school people around me getting to know each other thru instagram or fb and i just sit there wondering how. I get lots of likes from the people in school whom i have never even spoken to. I dont mind starting a convo with them but idk what do i speak after a hey and how are u? Any ideas of how people will actually start talking to me in school too? Im in high school and want to get to know more people inorder to have more fun!

Look at their status's, you see someone posted a picture of their cat, ask about their new cat or compliment them on how great they look in a photo. Once you have a great convo you can start texting or chat on another social platform. When you see your 'facebook friends' at school say hi and take it from there
