Is it illegal to spread personal information without permission?

So I let this random person follow my Instagram and he found out my last name. Then tracked my parents down and found out my home address and phone number. He has been sending my home address on this app MessageMe and is threatening to send it on iFunny. But I don't want him sending people my home address. Is that legal to send that kind of information without permission? I'm getting close to calling the cops.

You should have already called and reported him. It is illegal for him to do that without your permission, especially if he has hacked it from your account. I would report him to Instagram and all other social sites as well as report him to the police.
