Looking for suggestions regarding online college?
I am on call 24/7 and currently work as many as 90 hours a week. My schedule just can't accomodate a traditional college. So, i'm curious what experiences others have had with online colleges. I do not currently have a degree so i'd be looking for associate programs to start with. Possibly in engineering.

Are degrees from online colleges considered legitimate by employers in STEM fields?

What price ranges should i expect?

Can i really set my own schedule and work any time of the day or night? or are the recruitment letters unrealistic?

I would love to hear from people with experience with online courses

For someone with as unpredictable of a schedule as you, online school is a great option. First, make sure that you look into accredited schools because it means that the programs have met specific academic standards. This information will be on the school's website and you can also check the accrediting body's website to verify it.

The classroom experience is going to differ from school to school but you can ask the Admissions team, or even visit the school's Facebook page to chat with students, about the format. My program, for example, has weekly readings, discussion posts, and writing assignments. Of course, if you are interested in engineering, your could have more hands-on assignments. Again, it will depend on the school and professor.

One of the benefits of an online program is being able to set your own study schedule. You will have deadlines and due dates but when you actually work on those assignments is up to you.

Best of luck to you!
